You know what I mean? Because if we look into what love is, are we no better than the humans who have died before us? They seemed to have searched for its meaning or even its place within society. Even now we have people looking at its place in evolution. And then there's me sitting here in the future on a computer talking to no one. In fact, im not even talking. But surrealisms aside, how does love come about?
Ok the first people you learn to love, presumably, would be your parents. The funny thing is there's not even a choice of who they are, but when you first start to have a bit of psychological awareness you tell your parents you love them. So now we have the kind of love that isnt necessarily by choice but by osmosis. Then as you grow up you're told you have to love your brother too. Shit. Now there's more people you have to love.
Then at some point someone around you will say "oh by the way god loves you." No doubt at this point your like, "what? who the fuck?"
But as we continue along, pass the mess of family love and religous manipulation, you start to think "who will I fall in love with?" At this point, gentlemen, we are departing this indoctrinated love and on to the free love weve been told we would come across soon as we meet that special someone. Oh shit wait, someone told us we would fall in love, so now we expect it. How can this be free love then you ask. Well gentlemen, we will cover "free will" later. For now lets look at "free love"the sort of love human society has coveted in all sects of life. Now you'll have some nay sayers and you'll also have the hallmark crowd jumping on at this point. But rather than refute the extremes im more interested in its process.
Why do I feel that I am in love? we have a couple choices here. We could say that we are truly in some divine state of love. And by divine I mean divine. Originated from whichever gods you care for pushed down through the feeding tube into you and your loved one. you found eachother and god has blessed (the feeding tube part) you with holy matrimony. Ok too simple and not fleshy enough. Maybe it's that you feel insecure and they provide security. ok now were getting somewhere. they provide something you lack and yearn for. Maybe its just an arrangement where 2 peoples desires, dreams, etc can co-exist. hmmm sounds plausible but not passionate enough. maybe its everything. meaning that it is the insecurity part, the ends justify the means part, even possibly the divine part. If you dont like the divine moniker you could scientifically call it "luck." lets go another direction lets say your in love because they make you feel more into yourself. so its a narcicistic phenomena that overflows just enough to bring someone else along. cool.
so I guess at this point im supposed to believe that love is complicated and people can trick themselves into believing whatever they want so long as there is an impetus. Love can be anything or nothing at all.
